On the 5th and 6th of March, Barcelona hosted the XI Annual Conference of Technological Platforms in Biomedical Research. Different advances in Innovative Medicines, Nanomedicine, Health Technology and Biotechnology Markets were presented. The conference focussed on the use of these advances and their necessary coexistence with the legal framework of clinical research and data protection.
Carlos Díaz (Synapse CEO), participated in a debate on how to share data in biomedical research. The session focused on the experience acquired in the IMI Big Data for Better Outcomes (BD4BO) initiative including representatives from the ROADMAP, HARMONY, BigData@Heart and DO-IT projects. Representing ROADMAP, Carlos (Project Manager) highlighted its main pillars and challenges.
The whole presentation (Spanish) is available in our Video & Podcasts section here.
Commenting on the session, he said:
“It was a great pleasure to present ROADMAP at the event alongside all other projects in the BD4BO programme – who all counted on Spanish representation. Data sharing was high in the agenda and I highlighted the data cube and our EXAG as two of the innovations we could bring about, while emphasising the importance of modelling in our project plan. It was a good and interesting session allowing us to build bridges with our BD4BO colleagues.”
